I noticed the grow container wall impeding the outward growth on a lower branch on my 2nd Juniper Procumbens. Either the container goes, or the branch goes. Something needs to be done. 🪓

I decided the best course of action was to perform a major cut. I considered first that I applied some 10-10-10 early Spring this year with all organic medium and some additional Nitrogen monthly. The tree has generated large quantities of energy and been pushing out growth from Spring to Summer. I’m confident that after making this cut the container will not grow back.

You never know. With all that N your container may just surprise you. Keep an eye out for callus forming along the top edges. That's usually the first sign it is trying to regrow.

I’ll keep an eye on it!
