Hey all,

I received a few new elms in the mail and I was unsure what the suggested care for them immediately after receiving them was. I read that fertilizing should be kept off for a few weeks but couldn't really find any solid information about whether or not to protect them from the wind or direct light. Does anyone have any advice? They are currently kept in some indirect light under an awning in the meantime.

Thanks!

Keep them in the shade for a week and then transfer them to whatever elms need, not sure if full sun is recommended but usually shipping is less than 48 hours, which counts as a blink of an eye for most plants.

Much appreciated. Will keep them in the shade for a few more days then give them a bit more sun!

Usually quarantine them in the shade for 10-14 days; then integrate into what they need to thrive in… just water them as needed for 10-14 days
