So I've made some changes after posting about some troubles/frustrations I've had with my trees last summer and this summer.
I've built a new 8' x 4' bench with the ability to hang a sun shade throughout the heat of the summer. I'll have my maples that seem to be more sensitive to the mid-summer sun higher up on the bench so they avoid the full sun at mid day.
I've also implemented a rain collection system to the right with a pump hooked up to a hose to use the rain water.
With the sun shade and rain water additions (as well as some fungus and insect protection at the start of next spring) I'm hoping next season will be a better year for some of my deciduous tree's foliage.
