Well it's nothing too crazy, but it is (so far) pretty much unlike a lot of the ficus salicaria I have seen around. The trunk divisions are a little wild, and whenever I look at it, I struggle to form a unified concept in my mind for it so I move on to something else.

I just gave it a thorough trimming in two stages. Once removing all leaves but 1-2 at the ends of the branches, and again a couple weeks later trimming back to new shoots wherever they formed. This seems to have worked pretty well, but the tree is pretty sparse for now. Maybe a good time to get a look at the structure.

Hi!

In my effort to bring you back the flame for this tree I did a quick sketch drawing with ¨defined¨ pads placed in a way the tree is quite ¨balanced¨.
Nothing fancy or too extreme for this design but who knows maybe it can give you inspiration.

That is nice! It could be possible to bring some of those larger branches down with kerfing.. I am not sure whether they are flexible enough to do it with wiring or even with guy wires. But I appreciate the ideas and will consider it.

I like @Ugo design, I would do the same thing except a little more compact to make the trunk look thicker and more substantial. Here’s a rough virtual of proposed cuts. You could even cut if back further if you wanted to.

I think you can make a really nice tree out of this - it’s on its way there already!
