Looks like I am moving to AZ from WA so I'll have to sell all my Japanese Maples :(

The wife and I just decided to move from Washington back to Arizona. And sadly my 38ish Japanese maples won't survive there so I'll have to sell em. I'll probably wait until May though so I can see the leaves one more time.

But I am excited to start again in Arizona!

It will definitely a change of climate for you guys. Are you getting rid of all your trees or just the maples? Some other species you have been growing up there may make the transition to a hotter, drier environment, like juniper or other conifers. What part of Arizona are you relocating to? The low desert of Phoenix/ Tucson is a lot different than the northern part of the state like Flagstaff. Wishing you the best of luck wherever you end up, from your neighbor in New Mexico!

Moving to Phoenix so it'll scorching hot. Just have maples. Been looking for junipers for sometime but never found the right one. Thanks!

The Phoenix club is a good bunch folks, in fact I’ll be there this weekend for their show. But man, every year they tell me that all of their trees died in the summer. Rough cycle.
Ya I saw their exhibit once and it got me into this. I was going to move to California so the trees would of been fine there, but plans changed. Mostly bummed because I finally got some hard to find maples. They started putting out leaves.

Ya here is the list:

3 Shin Deshojo, 2 are air layers off the original from Celestial Maples 15 gallon tree. Beautiful small leaves on this one.
2 Deshojo from Mr Maple, was 1 gallon replanted into 2 gallon.
34 Beni Chidori 1-2 years old, all grafted and starting to leaf, purchased from California grower late last year. I think 3-4 of them died over the winter.

Everything is pre-bonsai, have 8 or so bonsai pots too. But not planning on selling this until May-June.

If you are in the Puget Spund area and part of the club, they are having an auction around June that might be a great place to sell these. Likely would be in the Silent Auction.

Echo comments above by @Ruddigger, the Phoenix bunch is great. They will help you get set up properly.

Cheers

I can buy some

What’s your Facebook I’ll send you a message and we can talk logistics.

If your shipping I'll be interested in a couple beni chidori. Send me a few pictures

I have the 34 Beni Chidori. But they aren't for sale until May sometime.

Don't use Facebook much anymore, yuck lol. I might ship, but would rather go local cash.

I will patiently await for May. Good luck on the move, and make sure you get some gnarly one seed junipers when you get down there. I think you’re making the right choice not trying to fight an uphill battle with maples in the southwest.

Could you share where did you acquire them from?
