looking for a bonsai care calendar

hi all,
I was just thinking about starting to pull together all my knowledge of what time of year to do what to which species. Looking to put together a month by month guide to help me remember not to forget stuff ... and I figured I would ask here first in case there is something like this that already exists.

I know that my region, species, and preferences will be different but if there is something out there it would give me a foundation to modify. And perhaps the discussion would help others learn when to do what to their trees.

Many beginner bonsai books have tables or charts in the back. Beware of those who say do something in this MONTH or that MONTH. Seasons - winter, summer, spring, fall are how you do bonsai.

But, in my opinion, there are too many microclimates -- even in MA -- to make any printed schedule worth a damn.

I was also looking for that and i am making my own schedule / infograpic perhaps i can post it here sometime so we/you guys can check it. Mine also will have 'gradients' (of time/strengt) to indicate a possible range of time/intensity you can do stuff to your trees.

New England Bonsai Gardens in Bellingham might have a bonsai care calendar for beginners. Timing in bonsai specific practices is very closely tied to your local climate. Jim is right that even in a small state like MA, the timing for re-potting or pruning a pine will differ somewhat if you live on the Cape or out in the Berkshires.

Our club in zone 7b/8 has a good monthly calendar. TBS Calendar. If you goggle "bonsai care calendar" you will get over 1,000 calendars. The best method is to combine a few appropriate calendars and then add your specific notes. Remember just because something is on the internet it is not free, it is still copyrighted.
