Little hope, survive with help?

Hi new to bonsai always been intrested. Honestly the tree is from the local store with glued down rocks... ive heard these usually no bueno... but it seems to be alright so far. Just no idea what it is, cant find anything like it with my searches... and should i repot?

Hi again and thanks for the i.d. i suppose we'll see what comes of it. I do have a little experience making plants grow how i want, once made a plant grow ina coil like a cfl light bulb kinda, so ill see what happens. Might have to find a more suitable species also too. I did repot it, took the advice "get the scary part over with before you get attached to it."
 
As to ID.Every Beaucarnea recurvarta(PTPalm) that I have seen has the signature big caudex,which that plant shows no sign of.Unless it is a cutting and doesn't grow a caudex except from seed,like Adenium obesum(DesertRose).Could be,I suppose.
 
Try ficus, they are more bonsai like material, and hard to kill.

Good point. I wondered about that. There are probably several houseplants that looks similar. I'm willing to bet most of them are not suitable for bonsai.
 
Could be a Yucca...

Mooh point anyway as none of the above are suitable for bonsai...
But at least you could eat the Yucca :)
