Picked this up at NEBG in Massachusetts almost two years ago and it's about time to repot it.

Like to get it into that lil' pot from @hometeamrocker on the right. Shallow, but should fit...
One on the left a little big, tree would get lost in there....

Hollowed out deadwood feature from base 'till the first screw o' the "cork"...

I wouldn't put a Kishu in a glazed yellow pot.

Of the three pots pictured, the one it's in is most appropriate. If you were to oil it, it would look really sharp!

The drum looks nice, just too big.

I don't make 'em. But the rules are there for a reason. If you have good reason to break one, go gor it. Then again, if there is no good reason, you just f&@%#d up.

Nice tree. I love junipers. I'm curious what your fertiliser, care routine is etc where you are, as it looks to have had a 100% improvement in foliage colour mass in a year.

Some kind of deciduous.

Or something like a boxwood.

Not an azalea. The finish isn't glossy. I think something that flowers boldly needs a little gloss in the pot to counter balance the flowers, or an unglazed pot.

A bougie.
Barberry.
Anything with light browns/tans bark.

I think the bottom rim of that pot makes it handsome enough for this tree...

And if you get the yellow cone nuggets at the tips....that could be a dope ass look.

Not really "glazed yellow", kinda' "weathered bone" in hue and texture. I may just put it back in the same one.
An oil suggestion?

My wiring skills are pretty basic, but improving. This is pretty small, it will be tricky. I'll try my best!

I've not much experience working deadwood features so this lil' stick gives me a teeny head start.
