Anybody know of any vendors with JWP trees/stock available? Not looking for seedlings and vendor would have to be able to ship.

I've seen NE bonsai's stuff and although nice, i wanted to see what else was out there but it appears to be few and far.

I may visit Nature's Way in PA in a few weeks but don't know if they even carry this species. I shot an email and am waiting to hear back.

Replies much appreciated!

Check out adamsbonsai.com Julian sells 5 needle pines.

Nothing under $750 at Lotus at the moment..

I know that this seems like a lot of $$, but for a decent JWP, you can expect to pay at least that, and much more. The small one I got from them was less, but it of course, has some flaws that will never be overcome, just hidden. Better to save your money to get one with much potential, and few flaws....
If it's possible of course...
Happy hunting.

I guess it's a bit of sticker shock in combination with availability.

Unfortunately as Judy said, any nice JWP with good bonsai potential is going to be expensive. If you just want a tree to practice and learn on before buying expensive material, try Cheap Sams just off the LIE service road exit 62 west. They have JWP and I've picked up a couple small (2 feet tall) JWP Pent Azumas to start learning the species on. They are nursery trees and grafted, probably don't have great potential but good, relatively inexpensive learning trees. If you really want something with potential then the only way is to save up and keep looking.

Just be aware that with NE Bonsai, you have to check often and be fast. I missed a nice little tree by a few hours when I tried to order one from them.
If you don't mind a drive they are having their summer sale now, walk in only, no online.

I'm waiting to hear back from NEbonsai on trees available they can send me pics of that may not be on their website. I'm ok with spending to get the right tree. I guess I was just expecting more availability of the species in a variety of stages.
