Spent the day at Jonas's Shohin School in Alameda,CA and met a lot of wonderful folks from all over as well as some friends from Fresno Bonsai!! The venue presented a venue of concentrated design principles of the display process and what it means visually. Jonas took center stage and presented Daisaku Nomoto (in photos above). Daisaku Nomoto was limited in his English command however an elderly Japanese/American was kind enough to translate the highly detailed process along with Jonas who is not only fluent in Japanese but offered additional detail. Everything from dai, pots, box stands, the tokonoma, and scrolls et al were covered. Every element was carefully considered. Daisaku Nomoto was quite the comedian in some of his comments and Jonas played along as well!
