I need your recommendation to select the perfect pot color finish and style I need to go with for this look. I'm considering having one custom built if needed. I did a mock-up with a "Reihou" style that might work but the finish is way to basic and played out. I like that style but the finish doesn't give the "WOW" and great transition feel I'm looking for. Please leave comments and suggestions. It's a tough decision and I would love to hear your feedback. I need your advice to find the perfect bonsai pot and finish to properly present this natural looking maple bonsai. Look forward to see everyone's feedback and comments.

The darkness of your trunk May be the only thing keeping that color from working.

Virt is nice but I'd like to see the pot about a half of that pot wider.

I personally dont like the very whitish pots, i would go for a more creamy colour.
I can imagine these whitish ones become nice with big age though.

Or for some other colours and shapes i think could be nice.
If you have one custom made, the depth of the pot should not be deeper as the trunk thickness or it will look too big.

It's a nice looking maple for sure. Part of pot selection is tied to what season you want to feature the tree in. If fall leaf color is your aim, then the brighter glazed pots in the green/blue range work super well. If winter silhouette, then cream works great. I find low key greens work well with summer green leaves the best. I think a simple oval is a good presentation style for this natural maple.
Nice job on the tree!

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm in coordination with a potter so I will discuss these items with him. I wasn't able to locate a website that actually sell the "Reihou" style so I might have to get one custom made. The best part of customization is the finish look which I get to decide. Here is an example finish I might consider and want to share. Please review and let me know what you think. It will be "Bamboo" glazed, I think this will blend well with the tree for the summer, fall, and winter. In general, the creamy look for the "Reihou" is too basic and played out. What do you think?
