I started a couple air layers on a Japanese Maple that’s a little larger than I want. I started the air layers 2-ish weeks ago. The standard sphagnum moss and rooting powder. The growth is booming from the “trunks” that I’ve got the air layer on. The new growth is very noticeable. Is this good, or a bad sign if anyone has seen or experienced this when air layering. Thanks!!

Growth above a layer is a very good sign. It shows you did not cut too deep and cut all circulation. Foliage and growth also provides food back down the trunk to the layer site where it fuels root growth. All positive so far.
