Greetings guys,

I have one cypress strugling for more than an year now, with parts turning yellow from time to time. Originally I have suspected it could be because of sun burn, too much moisture, soil problems, but now another cypress seems to start having the same sympthoms.

Is it a type of blight I wonder ? And if so, would fungicide would be efficient ?

I have to mention I have a similar problem with pines. For more than 2 yeads I'm struggling to stop a large infection with Needle Blight (dothistroma). Cooper fungicides have no efect against it, as far as I experienced. However it is a different type of blight compared to the one I suspect it is on Cypress, but can't say for sure.

Thanks a lost folks !

That reminds me of my actual funghi infestation, Phytophthora, wich I'm treating with fosetil.

I'm still on the fight.
You could use hydrogen peroxide (in the dosage you'll find in bnut) to begin with....
Good luck, I hope you find the culprit and have success fighting it!

That looks like a hinoki, Chamaecyparis obtusa. I have one on my patio that is doing something similar right now. It seems to be normal for them to drop foliage some in the fall (I am assuming you are in the northern hemisphere), at least in my admittedly limited experience. This might be normal behavior, not some acute issue, but I will defer to more experienced members on that point.

Yes it's a chamaecyparis obtusa, but this is definitely not the usual folioage drop. The most affected one, slowly and constantly loses foliage or entire parts, for more than an year now.
I really suspect i deal with some sort of scale/mits/spider now, but need the support of those having more experiience with it.

Did you do the paper test to check for mites? And how about the other tree that is affected- is it in the same kind of soil, same sun exposure, etc.?

Good point, but i just did the test and there's no mites. As for the other tree conditions are pretty much the same. They were potted in anorganic mix, moderate water, moderate sun, everything should be fine on that front as much as I can say.
