Hey everyone. First time posting here. I have several Jaboticaba trees, one of them a very large tree that I've had for several years. They are all covered from top to bottom with burnt tipped leaves. I repotted the large one recently and it's pushing out a bunch of new growth, but even the new growth ends up burnt in short order. Spoke to the nursery I got them from, he said he thinks it needs more water, but I have always watered them quite a bit, and no matter how much water I give them, the same thing happens. He also mentioned not using city water but that's all I have available, I don't have well water. I'm at my wits end, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

It reminds me what my trees looked like when I watered them with crappy city water that was high pH and high in sodium and chlorides (close to the ocean).

You can filter your water with an RO filter, which will remove sodium and chlorides and lower the pH.
You can use rain water.
You can use bottled water :)

Usually, I would think that Florida gets enough rain that sodium and other contaminants wouldn't build up in your bonsai soil, and the pH would stay moderate. However if you are in a dry spell and using a lot more irrigation than normal, your trees may not respond well.

Could be a couple of things, Jaboticaba trees don’t like salt air at all, these likely need a repot, possibly flushing with clean water etc…. here’s a couple articles to peruse
