I am now three days deep into my drive across country. After packing my family’s belongings into the 26’ truck I had a 7’ by 8’ section in the back of the truck left to pack my trees. I met up with my buddy Lime from Mirai and got a quick tutorial on their tree packing method. Using hard foam insulation I made a solid base for the trees and then cut to size Individual pieces of foam to create a framework around every pot so the whole thing forms a solid structure where nothing moves at all. To maximize my space I used a shelving unit and used the same technique. The process took me two twelve hour days, but the results are totally worth it so far. I managed to fit 66 trees in that 7x8 space and so far I’ve made it to Cheyanne WY with everything looking great! I spent last night hanging with Sam Miller from Intermountain Bonsai checking out his collection and chatting and playing some music and had a great time. Being three days deep into this drive and having everything look perfect feels like a friggin miracle considering the tight turns, hard stops, and crazy bumps they’ve been through. Feeling good so far and keeping my fingers crossed for continued success. I’ll see you soon NC!
