An old function that was available in our old vBulletin days was the ability for a user to "ignore content". In other words, you can currently "ignore a user" but the old function allowed you to "ignore a thread" or "ignore a forum" if you just didn't want to see it for any reason. (You could always go back and "un-ignore" it any time in the future.

Previously, this function was not available on XenForo, but I see that some intrepid programmers have implemented an add-on that allows people to do this. Because all our add-ons cost money, I wanted to check with people to gauge the interest in bringing this function back before I spend the $$$.

I would use it a lot.
There are some threads that pop up every day that mean nothing to me, specially those not concerning bonsai.
I say yes.

I think it might be useful, but if you have to pay extra for it.......I personally would not make the add-on purchase if we can ignore a user.
It's completely different from ignoring a user. I want to follow some people and don't ignore them, but also I don't see reason to keep seeing threads about the flatness of the earth...

On the top of a thread on the right side there is an "Unwatch" button. You can click on that if you have replied to a thread you are no longer interested in notifications.......unless you just don't want to see a specific thread all together?

I wouldn't use it. Some people are maybe not interested in certain topics but it's easy to ignore them anyway.
good for you. i couldnt help but think thats the most beta or soft premise, of ignoring differences or ideas that you dont agree with on a gardening message board. haha. perhaps even telling or correlating to the level of tolerance or maturity of a person if they use it.

good forum though, @bonsainut , enjoyable. i was a longtime vwvortex member and they are the biggest forum on the internet, period. i remeber that old stat but have to wonder if reddit has outdone them now, different format though. VWvortex is bigtime, this site seems to garner some solid traffic too. smart business (never ignores issues, lol jp)

Also different from the "unwatch", where you simply don't see any notification but the thread keep popping up.
But yes, I could only ignore the thread by myself and simply don't click on it.
Which is exactly what I am doing right now.
:)

I guess that is the point. If the threads aren't remotely bonsai related, I am not interested.
i hear you. a lot of people can determine that and ignore it fairly quickly though, if they want to be like that haha ;)

I'm in favor of adding it back. I don't like maples and everyone's buying maples and posting about them.
The ficuses/fici and p. Afras are subjects I wouldn't miss either.

So for me such a function would be.. Functional.

I'm all about streamlining my life. That feature sounds pretty cool to me, no more tropicals, no more tea house. Either way is cool though, this place is the best website on the www

Personally, the ignore user function meets my needs. I don’t wish to ignore topics. Thanks
