I wanted to introduce myself to the Bonsai Nut Community. I am Rob Wallace a bonsai enthusiast and potter from North Carolina. I have been working with Bonsai for 24 years and pottery for about 20. My shop is Wallace Woods Pottery, and if you are on the fence about traveling to see the Kannapolis Winter Silhouette Show I wanted to throw out another invitation. I will be there vending my pots along with an outstanding group of other potters and we will have work of lots of styles and sizes. Here are a few samples of some recent work I am bringing-- some wood fired some from my electric kiln. These are mostly smaller 6"-14" but I hope to have work up to 26". Well I have been lurking and reading in the Bonsai Nut Forums lately and thought I would jump in. Looking forward to meeting some of you folks next weekend :)

Welcome! Very nice pots. Im looking forward to seeing them in person. What part of the state are you located? I'm just west of Charlotte.

Thanks-- I am no too far from you in Columbus-- where 74 meets I-26

Hey Rob! Glad you made it to BonsaiNut! I hate to say too much but Mr. Wallace is not only a great guy but a fabulous potter! He is able to make larger containers and has a excellent selection of glazes. He has an Iron Oxide glaze which is very nice with conifers and Bald Cypress. The three containers at the bottom of this stack are forest trays that he has made for me in the past year or so. I expect he will have a great selection of containers at the Silhouette Show!

Were you not there last year set up right across the room from me? I think I bought a couple pots from you and your friend.

Hey Rob & welcome to BNut!

I bought this sweet 16" Nanban from you a while back - super impressed by how light it was, but also how strong/robust it felt.

Hoping to see more of your excellent work on here.

Yes, I did not intend to imply I was not there last year-- just encouraging folks who are not sure about traveling to the show that we would have lots of great pots to make it worth their while :) And I am new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I am really looking forward to the show and unloaded some killer pots tonight, with 2 more kiln load to come :).

Well from one Rob to another, I look forward to seeing you again. Will you be set up next to Preston Again?

This year Preston has his own both (last year I shared mine with him since he did not get a vendors slot in time) but he is firing away a s well and is in the adjacent tables to mine. :). See ya in just over a week! Rob
