Identity of this plant

Hi all,
I have found the plant below while hiking and I would like to know if anyone knows what kind it is and is it suitable to be trained as a Bonsai.

This is a shot in the dark, but does it smell like rosemary?

I have found this tree up in the mountains of Lebanon at about 750 meters high. It doesn't smell like a Rosemary.
There are so many of these plants with incredible shapes. Couple of them died when I moved them down to Beirut (sea level). Now this tree is still near its original location so I am hoping it will stay alive.

You should be careful with digging trees in that area I was googeling images of trees in that place as i found these articles (don't really know, if I can post links in here, or it is against copyrights, if so, just delete this message):
