I found a scroll at a thrift shop

You ever wonder how much money is stashed inside thrift store stuff?

Sorce

I barely know a few dozen of the 30,000 characters one needs to converse in Chinese, Korean or Japanese, but I am almost certain this is Chinese.
I will be curious to know what it says and hope someone chimes in.
The other side of the sphere is going to bed now.

I developed a side hobby of collecting older Japanese scrolls (kakemono, Kakejiku). I have a dozen or so. This is missing the ends of its roller at the bottom. Typically, these have cap ends attached to t the rollers at the top and bottom. Those can be ivory, bamboo, etc. They can get torn off or removed.

Have no idea what this one says. It looks Chinese to me also, not Japanese.

That is the problem with computers. This is a semi cursive or cursive script and although it looks like the character for world, it could just as easily be 無
I have asked my wife if she can read it. If so will give you an answer later.

My wife's best guess at the characters...but she was hesitant about providing a translation or meaning for the phrase.

洝為龍世界

Although the first character could be sea. 海 Maybe an alternative translation if the first character is ocean, The ocean becomes the world of Dragons, or The Ocean is the Birthplace of Dragons.....Just some guesses. Hard to say without the original writer's explanation.
