Purchased from River Rock Nursery. It was a grafted tree but in my price range. I love this cultivar so at the very least I figured I could clone the genetic and have a cute tree in my garden, no delusions of legendary bonsai.

May 1, 23 I potted it up. IMG_8415.jpeg
Lovely fall color ☺️IMG_1610.jpeg
I started really liking this goofy maple so I bought a new pot. I felt the old one looked like it was going to tip over. I decided to slip pot for now, Ill go back and work the roots in spring. IMG_1611.jpegI can’t wait for fall!

That is some great fall color! What are the spring leaves like, or is that the first photo? This can be a lovely feminine tree, I would wire some sweeping movement into it and keep the scale of the top branches as tapered as possible.

Nice elegant tree - little wire would add a lot to the image

I plan on putting more work into this one. Step one is filling my car trunk with material for my bonsai club auction. Coming up on my 4th year in this hobby, much culling needed so I have time to give my trees the attention they need.

The second photo is from May 1st. I don’t have many photos of this tree because I only recently became more interested in it. 🤗
