Collected this maple last week, field grown on a tile for 15 years, tree was 5 years old or so before that. I personally like the shape of the tree but I know some improvements can certainly be made as I only cut back minimal off of this tree, all advice and criticism is appreciated thank you E332ED3E-BA45-4B6A-BE58-BDD7ECA822AD.jpeg

A cursory review of the picture asks me "Why is the tree to the left already drastically chopped"?

So if this was a row of material at the place of purchase, and only the tree in the middle was the one you purchased, what did the guy say about the tree to the left? What was the reason for doing that chop? And why not ask that guy that's obviously good at growing things? Someone had an idea?

Just some thoughts I had.....

I'd keep only one trunk ultimately. First trunk on left looks interesting. I'd remove the middle trunk first, then the one on the right, but I'd slow the one on right down with a reduction of its growth.

Added a picture.

here Is a slightly better shot of the back side of the trunk, I’ve got all my trees cramped in the garage due to a recent snow storm so it’s a little hard to get great pics at the moment , I apologize and will try to get things moved around to get some better angles, thanks for the quick replies
