Hornbeam

Had this one a couple years, an old tree... Probably American Hornbeam or Hop Hornbeam... I am not sure exactly.. Been growing in a plastic can since I got it. Got an angle change and a fresh set of wheels!

The bark leads me to think korean...but hard time tell from the pic. Doesn't look like American or hop....different bark on both.

I'm thinking lose-flowering; C. laxifolia. Nice bark.

I like the way this tree feels. Have you considered doing a literati with this? It certainly has the bones to work with. A shallow pot, a few less branches and some twisty wiring......

I think it kind of has that look, but I am just going to pretty much let this tree be what it is. It looks like trees around me look... and I like it too. Thanks Judy!
