Hornbeam or Elm or my head hurts

Asking for help as I've been trying unsuccessfully to ID these for a while now.
I have 2 trees which leaves look alike, both get a lovely red fall color as well as red new growth.
The bark is totally different between them.

I had convinced myself last year and it was suggested here it looks like a Hophornbeam.
Will it grow hops even after serious winter cut back?

Compairing to this other collected unknown I convinced myself was an American Elm
Same leaves and color but totally different bark.

But he monkey wrench thrown in confusing me further is this one collected this winter showing much larger teeth on the leaves leading me to think it's an Am Elm? Now I know not what any of them are???

Yay. Thank you as I've been calling it that for a year. The second was a rescue off the edge of our buggy hillclimb trail being run over ect. Looks the same but bark looks so different.

I don't think an elm will get that reddish tinge on the new growth. My American Elm has light green new growth, so the second one looks more like some kind of elm to me. I also struggle to id these though.

Yes, sorry. The 3rd one looks like my American Elm.

Nice autumn colours. To me it looks like hornbeam, but I'm not familiar with american species. European one turns yellow with some light orange tint in places sometimes. Uncle Google says your turn red, nice indeed.

Mine wanted to throw one on a terminal..
But it died off in Feb.
That was my Only one.

They call it "hops" cuz it's the Elm that "hops" to hornbeam!
