I have this three in my back yard which I thought was an Alnus Incana and I wanted to air layer it this spring. But for the first time it's showing flowers this year which isn't really typical for Alnus species. It looks more like a fruit tree now, any ideas?
Give me an hour or so, I'll take some pics of my cherry tree for reference.
The weird red pointy party at the base of the leaf is kind of unique for cherries.
I’m 95% sure that’s a variety of prunus serrulata. It’s a relative of a popular variety called kwanzan that have large double pink blooms. I have a large tree in my yard that is about 40 feet high and sustained a lot of damage this winter. I have a random pic of a weeping cherry is my yard in the corner lol.
