Picked up this year about a year or so ago. Has some potential but I am concerned about the branch structure. (Well- most concerns for lack of needle training- wow they are still very large).
Anyway- I have attached some photos. The picture shows front. There is a nice base (looks like probably some grafting done?). But the first large branch goes directly forward from the trunk towards the viewer.
Not an ideal aesthetic. I am tempted to cut the branch (I dont think you can miss it- green arrow pointing towards it) all together but it feels drastic. Welcome any general ideas.IMG_5983_LI.jpg

Thanks for any suggestions.

Pictures are taken from too high. Lower the camera so that the rim of the pot is flat.

I wouldn’t cut the low branch. It’s still thin, easy to wire and move it wherever you want it. But not now. Wrong season.

You need to treat for fungus.

Fertilize.

Thanks for feedback. The fungus, what part of the tree indicates that. Not doubting your diagnosis at all, just want to learn.
Any suggestions on anti-fungal options for pine.
Thanks so much for feedback.

Plant in grow bag, put in ground, grow sacrifice trunk to over grow cut near base. Do basic training on branches to be kept. No worry for needle length during development stage;).
Spray with Daconil. NOT in hot sun!
