Hello,
First time posting in the forum and with a picture of my very first maple to become bonsai one day.
This is Acer Palmatum or so Im told so. I got this as a gift from a friend as everybody around me hear me constantly talk about bonsai. Was planning to go to nursery and buy loads of small plants , both maples and conifers ( for practice and to get started) but I’m stuck at renovating my house so kept postponing that trip. And got a surprise today
Although Ive watched tons of Yt videos and Peter Chan’s almost entire catalog Im posting here my first tree as I want to keep proof of progress or demise LOL and any advice or tips and opinions is appreciated!
So, my plan is to get the dead leaves out of the way and let it accommodate to my garden conditions for now. And I’m waiting for sphagnum moss shipment and few other things for soil mix.
After that I thought I’d replant it in a bigger pot without disturbing the roots so it can grow at least a year before any training or shaping.
Any other suggestions or steps I should do now?
Is this considered a true two trunk or not?
Havent looked yet at nebari if there is any developed.. that ill check when soil mix arrives.
