Hey all, just wanted to say hello to everyone!

My name is Brian, but my friends call me Brain (ask and I will tell the story).

I live in southeast Iowa, hence the name 'seiguy.'

I am here to seek knowledge and guidance, and to provide cheeky lip. There's not enough wit in the world these days...

I really like little trees in pots, and I'm very new to this. I've owned one of them for six years, been calling it a bonsai the entire time but I'm fairly sure to all you pros it's known as "a stick in a pot."

Cheers.

A little good natured fun on a Sunday morning.
I'm just jealous Sandy is where she is and I'm not.
I'm jealous y'all made it to the convention and I'm stuck home with the wife and kids.

Do get me wrong I love them but I see them everyday.

Don't get to see amazing trees/ bonsai in person of this stature everyday.

I'm at work this weekend (Sat, Sun, Mon) but I will be sure to get some pictures of my best stick in a pot soon. It's a Ficus salicaria (willow leaf fig) and I absolutely haven't been able to kill it. Battled spider mites for a few winters (miracle gro with too much nitrogen) and though it defoliated a few times it never managed to die!

My "collection" consists of four of the F. salicaria, four or five Portulacaria afra, two Juniper procumbens nana, a Potentilla fruticosa with some AMAZING features for a Lowe's find, seven Ilex 'blue boy' or something like that, something unidentified that looks like a willow, and two Physocarpus.

All of the outdoor plants are in the ground to grow for a while over pieces of, believe it or not, cut up plastic coffee cans about 8"x8" to get the roots to radiate instead of growing straight down... Again, pictures to come! Thanks for the warm welcome, I'll try to keep the biting sarcasm to a minimum M. Frary!

Looks like a state of confusion. If you owe Washington (state that is, not the money grabbers back east), anyway if you owe Washington, then pay up. And if ya do then you'll maybe be welcome. Oh, and uhhh, my account is able to accept, yeah that's it, accept any monies due us Washingtonians. Ah, heck with it anyway, welcome to nutzville.

I'm in Iowa this weekend, Des Moines actually. Very pretty area, always just thought of this as just "fly over country".
