It seems too early for everyday watering, is it? And we have had a lot less humidity than normal here, they depend on that humidity, because one week humidity was under 40 and it seemed like so much water, I wondered how many of you in less humid zones even keep up!. 🤯

This isn’t an either or situation. It can can come and go. Water three days in a row. Then skipping a day.

It all depends on when the trees require it. That means checking every morning before work or whatever and estimating if they’ll need watering that day. They may or may not. It’s not a matter of simply watering every morning before leaving as a habit. That’s just watering on your schedule not according to what is needed.
As the weather heats up and tree leaves harden off and roots start drawing up water more efficiently it may turn to every day watering because the tree Pa will need it.

This time of year, I'm more likely to be watering TWICE a day, as the new foliage is rapidly extending, and the weather here in SE MI tends to be windy and warm, with LOW humidity, which vastly increases water loss through the foliage and soil surface. Once the foliage hardens off, and the summertime humidity arrives, once a day will be the rule.

I have my new misting irrigation set up to water 4 times a day for 5 min. I’d rather do once or twice. But it is usually windier here in the day and when it is windy, the mist gets blown away without watering the plants sometimes. So I figure more is better since I’ll be out of town a while. My mom is house sitting for us, so I should know if something goes wrong within a day or two.

I always water at least once a day. Nowadays I do three. It’ll be 5 come summer.

okay, the question was are you watering every day idc if it 18 hrs then 15 or what just is it </= 25 hrs why you make things so complicated? 😄

as the new foliage is rapidly extending,
oh that's probably what's going on , I didn't think of this, that's why sometimes the waterings last longer in summer.

Daily watering started about a month ago for me. It warmed up early for us this year.

The temperatures are always up and down this time of year. it may warm up to 88-90 degrees with lows in the 70s, I water everyday on these days.. then it rains for a week straight causing temps go down after the rain passes to highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s, I may water once every 2-3 days with everything in 1/1/1 akadama, kyru and lava. I check on my trees at least a couple times a day usually.. I just watch the soil and water when needed. I have too many different species. Once it’s hot, 90-100 everyday with lows in the high 80s-low 90s, I’ll water everyday, some trees twice a day.

I do much like @rockm wrote. I check daily with the intent to water, but the occasional day the trees won't require it. I suspect it won't be much longer before watering by rote each day will be acceptable and not much longer before I'll have to start spot checking for a 2nd watering ....only for that to become rote for a few months before needing to back off.
