Growing any type of Maple species in zone 13 (South East Asia)

Hi All Masters!


As now I have a tropical bonsai (Limonia Acidissima, Wood Apple).

I have a great interest in Maple Bonsai, would like some advice in any Maple species or closest Maple species that i have to grow in this tropical country of Malaysia.

Here’s some maple references for Malaysia suggesting that even trident maples need a rest period in cold storage. Check out post #1935, they suggest Wrightia religiosa as a maple substitute in tropical areas.
