Hello! New guy here.

I've tried my hand at a few bonsai from material from local greenhouses but never followed through with taking care of the trees as I should have, which resulted in both dying. This year is different. I currently have a Juniper (Nana Precumbens), Lemon Cypress and was just gifted a Hinoki Cypress for Father's Day from my kids. All of the trees are healthy and I look forward to styling them. I also recently purchased a Japanese Maple (Tamukeyama) and am giving propagation a college try.

I'm still trying to learn as much as I can and look forward the information and knowledge I'll be able to gain from this forum.

Cheers,

Enjoy the madness!

Also, fill in the hardiness zone info in your profile. It'll help other members give specific info if you need help with anything bonsai-related.

Welcome Aboard to Bonsai Nut!

Looks like some good starter trees, Juniper, Hinoki and Maple. We have lots of resources and pertinent conversations here about these species. Also there is a plethora of resources online both from professionals and sorta professionals about these species.

Start looking forward to crafting a winter over plan now about how these trees, (esp Hinoki and Lemon Cypress.) will be protected.

You can help us help provide on point advice if you add both your approximate location and USDA Cold Hardiness zone to your profile.
To do this, please double click on your icon, then account details, scroll down to add these data.

Welcome Aboard once again!

Cheers
