Hi. I am going to be repotting my burning bush i bought earlier this fall. The problem is that the pot it is in has alot of clover. How can I remove the clover and prevent it from coming back?

Regular clover disappears with a repot.
Oxalis on the other hand.. Not sure how to tackle that except for ripping a part off and brushing glyphosate on it.
I've been anti roundup for my entire life but oxalis and ground elder have me convinced that there is a reason to apply it sometimes. Not as a spray, not as a soak, but as a brush-on-herbicide.

If youre repotting a burning bush, just bareroot the tree completely, make sure you rake out all the soil and weed roots, wash in water, and repot into fresh soil. Should solve problem. I always have some oxalis growing in my pots... i wish it was clover, which is nitrogen fixing.

Can I bareroot repot and do a little bit of trimming or is that too much stress for it?

For Elatus? Before buds break but as they swell, shouldnt be a problem with the right after care. Can we see the tree? Is it an older specimen? Is it recently collected?

Sounds like you’re dealing with Oxalis, which is horribly aggressive. It needs to be extracted by the tuberous root, and stay on top of it, since any little bit remaining will grow.

I've managed to keep an oxalis infestation at bay by meticulously removing it by the tuber/runner ...and going back in 4-6 weeks later and doing it again. For a while I didn't see much progress. I *THINK* I've got it whipped now.

I had a moderate infestation of oxalis. I made a rule that any time I checked on my trees, I would remove half of it from the pots. I coupled this doing soji on a few trees that were seemingly the source of the issue, and a few other larger attacks. It was fairly grueling, but I started to make pretty good progress and it got to be not so bad.

It’s a shame because I think oxalis is really pretty. That’s probably how I let it get bad…

I am sure it is clover. I got it recently from someone on Craigslist.
