Gabler's Acorn to Oak Tree Thread

Hey @Gabler where did you source your seeds online from?

They are out of inventory of almost all oaks 😔

They list every species of seed they've ever carried, but they seldom have more than about half of the listed species in stock. It's hard for them to source quality seeds, and they can't risk buying significantly more than they can sell, since seeds are perishable, and they need to turn a profit.

That said, when I looked earlier today, there were quite a few species in stock. Just search "Quercus" to get a list of everything they have.

Oops.. wrong place.. I was thinking of Schumacher seeds

I separated the bur oaks, pin oaks, and hybrid oaks into individual pots. The white oaks aren't too crowded (fewer germinated), so they can remain in their original containers another year.

The pin oak pictured below is representative of all of the seedlings.

They're potted in perlite and vermiculite. The coconut coir is a top dressing.
