Aloha everyone,

I got a nursery Fukien Tea and repotted it about two weeks ago. The leaves have started turning yellow and falling off.

My first concern is I didn't trim the roots properly.
My second concern is that either I am over-watering, and/or the soil I am using is retaining too much water.

If its the soil, I am definitely going to get some akadama or lava rock and remix the soil.

ON A SIDE NOTE.........since the tree is already wired to the pot and its only been two weeks, is it a bad idea to remove the tree from the wiring, remix the soil with some akadama or lava rock, and then REPOT the tree with the new soil? Or do I remove as much soil as I can with the tree still wired? My concern is shocking the tree since its only been two weeks.

Here are some photos for you to use for reference:

They almost always drop some or all leaves after repot, or a position/light move.

Another repot will Probly kill it.

It should be ok.

Just don't move it! Or sneeze, or laugh, or breathe, or....

As sorce said, these are super sensitive to light, soil, and moisture change. Mine drops all of it's leaves and does nothing for about a month after repotting.

I killed mine with a temperature shock (warm inside > freezing outside = dead tea).

Never a good idea to re-pot a tree just after re-poting the very same tree... :)

Would you guys recommend gently removing as much soil as possible without removing the tree, remix with lava rock or akadama, and pour it back in? Or is this an option that is not even plausible?
