Hello! I had a fukien tea tree shipped to me as a Christmas gift for my husband. I fully admit in the excitement of purchasing what I thought was the perfect gift for him, I didn't think too hard about what might happen to a tree that was shipping from CA to PA in December...It arrived clearly frozen, and the company agreed to ship a new one in the spring and said I should try to either save this one or just destroy.
I feel really bad just throwing it away so I'm wondering if there's any way to save this poor fella. Should I remove the leaves? Trim the shoots? UV light or not so important? I know it's probably a lost cause but I'd like to at least try.
Thank you in advance!

Sorry to hear.
Did they pack it with heat pads/hand warmers?
I would do nothing to it, besides watering very little when soil is drying out. Put it under the sunniest or brightest place you can find.
I’d give it two months to see if anything green starts to shoot. If not, I’d throw it. Fukien can be a hard tree to begin with. I’ve killed two so far, and those 2 started moderately healthy. 🤣

They did have a couple heat packs, but it got delayed for a day or two and I think that may have done it in :(
Is a UV light a good choice or is it more about heat?

Thank you all! Should I pick off the dead leaves or leave those be too?
