County and most of the surrounding area had a frost advisory this morning. A county over had a freeze watch.

I suspected as much last night--low humidity, no wind, clear sky--, but didn't bring anything in....sprayed everything down with water at 5 this morning. Frost on the neighbor's roof at 6...Air temp was 40.

I hope I dodged a bullet and didn't get frost damage on anything

Supposed to be 83 tomorrow, 90 by Thursday...

A lovely spring isn't it?
We still have night temps in the low 30s, they may creep up to 40 late this week...
Fingers crossed for your trees.

Lost all of the Apricot blooms so far and a large amount of Crabapple foliage. Could also be some damage to one Pear but looks like we are finally getting a break -

Those temperatures are far below average for here but welcome

Man you guys cant catch a break back there! Last wednesday 98 here this wednesday 74. Seems kinda crazy all around. I do not believe I will get any plums on my tree this year not enough chill hours past winter.

Heavy frost here. Noticed landscape peony is limp on ground. Hope it rebounds...with the greenhouse I seem to forgot to check weather and didn't cover things in landscape.

I was asleep at the wheel and didn't check the forecast. I went outside at 6:00am and saw some frost on my truck and started cussing. The thermometer near my trees read 36. I sprayed everything down with water so I guess we'll see what happens. I thought we were past this crap.

The frost advisory, from what I can tell, was issued after midnight last night. I checked various forecasts last night before turning in. Woke up and there was a headline story on WTOP saying an advisory was issued

Spraying trees with water between 5-7 am or so, can be a big help in keeping frost off the new foliage.

I'm not worried about some of them because they're under a larger landscape tree or the deck. That usually keeps some frost away.

Just finished doing the 2 step myself. Checked the report before going to bed and a local forcaster predicted lows of 30 for this morning so I schlepped them all into the garage. In the end it never gor below 36 on my back porch but I am afraid this may be the new norm. Maybe its time to switch to shohin or tropicals that I can grow inside.

We had a frost warning Saturday, supposed to be mid 80's by the middle of this week, crazy stuff. Several of the fruit trees in the yard didn't bloom, and the southern magnolia is looking decidedly sad.

We had a hard freeze (27) the last two nights. Because we will be in the high 70's in a couple of days, and I'm working 16 (or more!) hour days all week, I put them all in the windhouse, and covered it with a large tarp. Put an outdoor electric heater on a thermostat to keep it at 36, along with heat mats under everything. Watering system kicked on at 6, and all was well when I went out this morning. Bill will pull the tarp off today and open the doors, and sides. I didn't want them in the greenhouse all week... this seemed to work out fine. Hope the low temps are over!

I'm surprised you got so much colder than we did. You're not that far north of me.

April 8 is the south Charlotte last frost date. It had been creeping closure to March since I moved here 26 years ago. Had the slightest frost last night with a forecasted low of 40. Arakawa Maples had grown 6 inches since the las frost knocked 3 inches of new growth off of them 2 weeks ago. Starting the Number Of Days Since Last Frost counter over tomorrow morning. Think this time we are good until October. Maybe.

April is over. Yet.. we have frost risk here for another 2 weeks. The state I am in has frost warnings this week too, but my house seems to be lucky. 5C (41F) forecast so far.

Europe is being whipped with some frost too. It'll be fun to see how my trees are going to pull through.
Luckily there's still a lot of unused sugar left from dormancy in most.
