A clump style forsythia collected from the yard. It had been ground grown for 4 or so years after transplant.

Today dug, removed field soil, replanted in a grow box and put in shade. Not sure of style yet but I think it will look great as an almost banyan styled tree.

Planted in a mix of compost, pea gravel, and perlite. Left in shade to recover. May need to top off soil a little. Its a forsythia... cant kill it if I tried probably.

Ill follow this procedure and see how the results are.

Before and after photos. Removed some unneeded stems and branches. Also trying a cutting with one branch to try and get a nice smaller bonsai as well. I tried the leaf reduction/pruning as mentioned in the previous reference. Will see how it responds. I have one more to do. I need to just fertilize this one when I get back outside.

This process worked excellently. Lots of buds and options for future cut back and ramification.
