Forgot to repot this privet

I think I forgot to repot this privet last year... And maybe the year before... Who knows when it was last repotted? Oh well. Time to get it done!



All better now.



All those braches and top got chopped down too I just didn't take any more pictures. This was one of those dreaded Walmart mallsai. ?

I like it. Nice tree. I have repotted these just about any time of the year with root work and they have been fine. I dug one during August and cut almost all the roots off and it popped buds in 10 days after being in shade and grew like crazy.

I may be looking for a smaller mallsai... @Carol 83 may have inspired me to redo my old fairy garden pot...I used to have an artificial mallsai in it. But if I could find one for the pot...but the pot is not frost free...so...needs to be able to go inside. I just have not looked into anything fitting that wintering need.

They have a whimsical look to them...and if one can embrace the mallsai...then do it. Congrats on a good repot. What pot did it go into! Same one?

Went from a 6 inch Home Depot azalea pot to an 8" x 4" bulb pot stamped made in Italy. These pots go on sale from time to time, at a local garden center for 2.50 each. They are thick and heavy for their size. I like them quite a lot, I just wish they were a tad cheaper.
