After learning hand construction previously, I'm now taking a wheel throwing class. Just started trimming and made my first pot. Hopefully the bisque is done and I can get this in for glazing soon.

Very nice for a first pot. Learn how to make a purple glaze.:D

What are you waiting for?;)

I brought home about 250lbs of chemicals the other day!
It's On!
Gotta put the kiln on wheels, build it a chimney, get my propane tanks, and wait patiently for cooperating weather.

Hey, I want you to send me some horse hair for a Raku Project! You get the pot!
Something like....

I'm gonna make one with chicken feathers for the hubs! Lol!

Forgive me @W3rk ...I AM trying to push you down these rabbitholes!

That is a nice pot!
The proportions are spot on!
I'd buy it! Purple or not!

I haven't had horses for a long time, but I know a guy........coming soon.

I was at a raku workshop some years back when one man brought elephant hair to use. I didn't even know elephants had hair. Results were awesome. Very Bold, as you would expect.
And that is a nice pot for your first. I love carving the feet the best. Listing some on eBay tonight.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. I have definitely enjoyed trimming a lot - and already have some ideas for how to improve my work on feet.

@sorce - thanks, nothing to forgive you for! I've already been going down the rabbit hole with pottery. Thanks for the link, I've seen a number of Dante's videos. He's got good energy and I think he educates/shares info well. I've watched a bunch of stuff about glazing, things like soda, wood fire, raku - I really love all these great textures and colors you can get. Fascinating stuff.

As a beginner, my pulling needs work (walls too thick, need to get better at pulling higher, that kind of thing).

Looks like you’ve got a knack for this! Watch out, it’s as addictive as bonsai.
