So after attacking the Ficus I purchased earlier this week I managed to untangle the individuals from themselves and the tiny pot they were battling over.
I had no idea how many were in there, apparently 3. And no idea which one I am keeping for some bonsai experiments 😂😂

3 for 1
Keep them all.
Give one away/sell it when they become established in their new pots

Yeah might do something completely different with each of them and see which one I like the best further down the road. 😀 I got this size on purpose so they are bendable.

I think the one on the right is the most bendable as it's the thinnest trunk from what I can tell. Have fun with them, see how they grow and if you don't want them all, keep your favorite after a couple of years and sell/give away the others

They are all a benjamini cultivar so be aware that they are easy to bend but if you bend branches below the horizontal plane you may lose them. (branches that is)

Good to know! Thanks

All those thick roots will develop into bulbous "ginseng" roots in one or two years I know by experience, better to cut them and leave only fine roots

I rescued a little ficus from HD recently and decided to repot immediately. It was in a gross deep orange pot and when I took it out I realized why. It had those big tuberous roots also. I wasn't sure it would survive the repot after I whacked them off, since there very few fine roots but it sailed through it.
