I picked up a new tree that im pretty excited about. Lots of potential. Its a ficus philippinensis, and while I am very familiar with ficus in general ive mostly been working willow leaf ficus these past few years. To my suprise when I tried to pull up some info on this one to refresh my memory i couldnt find much at all!
Im wondering if its like a few other ficus and has changed its name? Maybe "the ficus formely known as phillipensis"... possibly just phil?
Does anyone have some good experience or knowledge of this one? Im wondering about its back budding, die back, aerial roots, response to defoliation... things like that or any info youve picked up working the tree thatd be helpful and might guide me in choosing where to go with this tree.

I've been treating mine following the general guidelines for a ficus benjamin seems to be working well.

Hows the backbudding? Anything else you can tell me?

Like most of my of ficus trees they backbud everywhere except for where I hope it will. It did not respond well to defoliation. I treat them like the rest full sun and water nearly every day except for winter and when it rains.
