Too hot to be outside so I’ll start a progression thread instead.

July 2019 I split it into two larger pieces and many, many cuttings. The nursery had it in two pots. Rootball was solid.

February 2020. I decided I didn’t chop them back far enough.

There are probably more cuttings that came from this one but these are the ones I remember for sure.

The smaller one of these is a cutting from the bigger cutting. I took the small one off a few months ago.

'Green Mound' is a more pointed variant of 'Green Island'. You have 'Green Mound'.

The variety is newly named in the last ten years or so. It probably has been around for a long time. I have both.FGI 20180404_170016.jpg
FGM 2019_1017 leaf shape.JPG
I don't know if these have been crossed back and forth (open or field pollinated) in the trade and some individuals are more different than others in the trade or if there is instability in the species so that individuals sport back and forth while nobody really pays attention because they can be pretty close. I denude both of these at least once a year so the leaves are smaller than the type which may or may not exaggerate the difference.

All of the retailers down here call it green island but I also think it’s green mound. It has been very easy and forgiving to work with.
I'm not familiar with Green Mound, but I agree that it doesn't look like Green Island. The leaves on Green Island are more rounded than these. The leaves also tend to be on the larger side in comparison to other ficus that are popular for bonsai, such as Tiger Bark.
