Hello Nuts,
I have had this Red Leaf Fig for about 6 months now, as of 3 weeks ago, the tips of the leaves are starting to brown, I don't think I am over feeding it. Could the issue be with too much light?, it's getting 14 hours of artificial light right now.

That doesn't look like a major problem. I doubt that you can give it too much artificial light. I have mine on 18 hrs light, but of course we don't know the relative output of our lights. How's the humidity? Aside from the tips your ingens looks very healthy.

I would make sure it's in a low air flow area. If its near any heater vents, the dry hot air blowing across the leaves could be causing the browning of the edges.

What happened 6 weeks ago?

How many leaves have been growing a week?

If you know, even roughly, you can calculate how far before 3 weeks ago something caused the showing effect.

Then pinpoint the time you are looking for a change.

Weather?
Water?
One of 2 bulbs went out?
A period of having your entry door open longer than usual, say for a couch move or something? Holiday in and out traffic?
An evil relative?

Soil looks good but sometimes too much stagnant wet browns my ginseng tips.

Thanks for the input guys, it may be catching warm draft from the vent on top which does have a reflector, may have to get a bigger one.
as for the soil, it's fast draining. lots of turface, some pine bark and crushed granite.
the tree has had no new growth for a few months now either.
and no in-laws have been around for a while! :D
