So I’ve just recently gotten back into things and in typical honeymoon fashion went out and grabbed four trees a podocarpus macrophyllus , a grafted ginseng ficus , a mops mugo ( nursery stock ) and a Cotoneaster microphyllus thyme leaf . My plans for each is eventually making the best of the ficus with a root over rock arrangement ( fledgling idea haven’t read too much ) the Buddhist pine Isn’t much and needs a few years so it will be repotted in spring and left to grow out for years unless someone thinks it needs any training now ( I know the branches lignify quickly so if anything needs to be done with what’s there I’m open to it otherwise I’ll let it grow out a few years then give it the chop and go from there ) , the cotoneaster I’m kinda happy about for it’s upright nature for a prostrate style tree , trunk has a little girth compared to what’s around, again rePotting in sprIng and just let it grow unless anyone else has other suggestions ? In it’s young state I’m assuming it needs some years before any pruning or wiring is warranted ( I’ve been wrong before ) the mops mugo was a long term project I read Vance woods guide and It’s out on the porch with the cotoneaster until the middle of the August when I put it into a colander ( trying to make sense of the root pie slice concept for when I repot it into the colander it’s pretty jammed up root wise in there typical nursery style ) any input I appreciate
