Feedback on my first video

I think it was smart doing the voice over after the fact,
Thank you but.. Ehm.. I did not record the voiceover afterwards. It was recorded when I shot it! I recoded the same text more or less in different locations and as I blended the individual clips, I used the sound of one of the videos to keep it continuous.

My biggest criticism is that I feel video should always be shot horizontally.
This is what I realized when I started putting it together :( Next time! :)

Constructive Criticism: I think the video quality would improve exponentially if you had some sort of video stabilization device for the moving shots and perhaps a tripod for the shots that don’t require as much movement.

The audio sounded great. You have a good voice for videos and I thought the content was good.

And of course, great trees! Well done 👍🏼

Just my take on the video.......you should mention your general location so viewers have a more understanding. Also you mentioned below zero.....but by what unit of measure C or F? Video is best viewed in landscape view.

Other than that video quality is very good as well as the audio. What camera are you using? and did you use an external mic? I thought and tried to make a video, but it's just to awkward talking to a camera.

I am recently highly biased cuz you are a wonderful human being!

That said...

I think slower too, but further, without much fear of going too slow, because your voice is very calming, I don't think anyone would want to turn it off during a longer pause, they'll be waiting to hear it again.

Interesting, came out surprisingly well for that approach!

Good start!!
As already said, shot best be taken horizontally. If you heave a digital camera, you can take videos as well with it and will result in better quality, because you can choose between 4:3 or 16:9
Indeed, best to record voice afterwords on computer. Gives you much more control on what you want to say.
A free, simple to use and very good editing software is "Open Shot".

Sorry to disappoint.. It is just my knock-off cellphone!

I do have a digital camera, which has horrible sound. So a bit back I bought a cheap-ass video camera, which was horrible quality. So for this one, I took my cellphone!

Hey very cool. Thanks for sharing. I went ahead and subscribed to your channel and will look for more updates. I agree with landscape video as it shows more but it's a good start!
I'm gonna have to check out your website too - https://bonsaitechniek.nl/

You seem to be well on your way to figuring out the production process. You've already problem solved most of your big issues.

How do you plan on incorporating the videos into your site content?
This will dictate production style. Short and simple like this one to supplement articles, or are you planning on more long format content to stand alone?

Surprisingly my cell phone takes better pics and video than my mirrorless DSLR. I use my cell phone for all my pictures and edit on the phone as well.

Video quality was very good, not too shaky just very close in on the trees. I enjoyed the narration. Subscribed to your channel, thanks for sharing and look forward to more.
