Fallen oak collection

This oak was knocked down by the storm two years ago. It has mostly rotten roots. It was rescued 4/14/2022.

I am not sure if this one is worth the effort. It likely will die. It was very weak when collected.

I don’t know if roots are growing but up top the buds are coming along.

I am still looking for some buds a little bit higher up the trunk. With my live oaks, it took a month longer. I am hoping for the same thing with this one.

No buds at the top yet but the tree is in growing.

After coming on strong the tree regressed big time once the reserve was depleted. I babied this oak and now it is mounting a come back with new buds. Hopefully by now I have enough roots down below to support it.

10 days layer the tree is coming back strong. The new roots are performing now.
