I got a nice larch grouping and the person said its due a repot as its been a few years.

My question is, it has been raining here for 2 days now should i be concerned about the larch staying too wet? They substrate drains OK but its very muddy and compact now, i'm not entirely sure what its like deep inside.

I've just put my larch into the greenhouse anyway

Don't know what Scottish summers are like but I would definitely not be repotting anything in America right now unless it was really looking sad

Why not? It is the start of prime time for repotting mugo pines (right now).

Larch likes wet substrate. If you leave it dry during hot summer day and not water it 2 times a day you'll see why. One missed watering and you will end up with dry needles, if too dry then part of the foliage will dry out and fall of.

So, my feeling is your larch will do just fine staying on rain.

@0soyoung that's true, but when I say "I" wouldn't repot anything right now I'm taking my trees into consideration. No mugos here. Just a lot of stuff that would shed and weaken during a summer repot

If you feel.....think....it is to wet....put a brick under one side of the container so it is tilted. Gravity will help the draining of excess water.

About 2 weeks ago we got loads of sun in Scotland and i did get loads of brown needles. I did let the soil get slightly dry over that period.
