Euphorbia Loricata from Seed

Seed taken from a full grown specimen on the rack at home depot.

Sprouted back in February. Been happy on the desk listening to a whole lot of death metal.



Currently growing in 8822 fines. Will repot this winter sometime. Letting it grow out for now. Watering schedule is once a week.

Found time today to repot. It was in that very dry sifted 8822 and I was getting concerned that it was hampering root health so I repotted. The roots werent too bad but only had four radial roots with a small amount of fine tips. I stupidly did not take pictures.

New soil mix:
3-4 parts 8822
1 part seed starting soil.

I watered after repotting lightly. Will restrain watering for next week or two. I will mist leafs occasionally.

Since it's back on my desk right now... heres what this little fella looks like. Growing pretty good. Next year Ill get it outside earlier for better growth.

Anyone think I should plant it lower? Like to the base of the main growth?

So decided to plant it lower. Its been growing well and I wanted it to be more stable.

I loosened the soil at the edges up and it lifted really easily without any effort. It had grown quite a few nice horizontal roots.

Newly repotted. Gave it just a tiny amount of water to settle the new 8822 I used to top off the pot. Should be good for a while now!

I wonder how many people are causing root rot by putting organic matter in the planting hole.

Stupid.

Yeah, I added a tiny bit of seed starting peat mix to my succulent soil and it holds water a little bit, but not much, and it helps bind the otherwise loose granules. But adding too much is dumb. I wont repot this thing for at least 2-3yrs now probably.

Back outside. I think these like the leaves misted more than the soil watered.

Proof of misting succulents instead of watering them... mist it daily... when it rains it rains.

Aaaand outside for the season... didnt do much inside, but it will start growing well outside. Using the pot to root some other cuttings. Probably will repot it into new soil mid summer.
