Eugene's Olea africana

Hi All,
I got this olea africana today for about $14, i think it's base has some good potential. So to airlayer or trunk chop (late winter) and repot (spring) to immediately start working the roots rather?

i bought one in PE the other day, lets hope it adapts well to my home conditions in the northern hemisphere

Not sure how the winters are there, but as long as it doesn't go too far in the minus it should be fine, they are surprisingly hardy. They say the trees in the ground can go up to -15C, but i wouldn't risk going that low with a tree in a pot. But i do know one of mine came from a area which got temperatures in the -1C range and it was perfectly fine while in a pot.

First bit of work done on this one. Will let it grow back strong and repot next year

It responded well to its trunk chop and now for its first training pot. Chosen to be over sized as i didn't know what the roots were going to look like on this nursery stock, as well i'm hoping for better growth in the larger pot to start healing the trunk chop

Kind of excited about this tree as it's the first bit of nursery stock i bought that has some real potential...if i don't kill or mess it up that is
