First message is a sale? Also, 525 dollars for a dead rosemary. 😂
Hello. We are accepting offers as well. I believe the Rosemary was accidentally priced so I can go and double check, thank you for letting us know.
Yes this is our first post as I am posting on behalf of the owner and they are not technically savvy, unfortunately, and not able to use the computer without considerable accessibility. Thank you for your understanding.

If you are looking to sell these locally, I think you will have trouble getting even half of the asking price on these. The dead rosemary listed as a "sculpture" definitely seems predatory, even if that was not the intention.
I am sorry, I missed the naming. We are accepting offers on these, of course. :)

I would be EXTREMELY careful on acting on this...No offense to the OP, but they've only been here one day and then apparently only to sell trees with prices over a thousand bucks (for boxwood) and a rosemary "sculpture" with roots encased in cement.

I would take them up on making a visit, asking very detailed questions and for backup photos.

Hello, yes. Please do ask questions regarding the specimens as once again, I am simply getting the word out there starting today on behalf of the owner, and yes, these prices are negotiable. We want to make sure these get to the right people and homes. We are happy to have anyone visit who is seriously interested in making a purchase on our collection. This is the first place we've posted these for sale and they have been on eBay for some time, with a considerable amount of interest from buyers across the nation.
I am once again simply listing and getting word out on behalf of the owner. I appreciate your input.
EDIT: We are absolutely serious, real and so are the specimen up for sale. Please ask for photos, videos and any other information you may need if you are interested in purchasing or making an offer.

Mostly boxwood, so if you are a boxwood person needing something to work it this might be something to look at and make a realistic offer as OP is negotiating.

As far as the first item, the first edition book of Bonsai Notes by Alfred Koehn, I believe he was a German diplomat was was into flowers and bonsai. He worked with Yuji Yoshimura, as a collaborator teaching bonsai in Japan back in the day, before Yuji began to work with Bill Valvanis The book is likely a decent price for a bonsai book collector as I believe it was the very first, or one of the first English language books that came out of Japan . There is at least one other edition in 1954, dunno if that was revised.

Cheers

but what if I told you... it was exquisite?
Compared to the trees listed, I think most everything in my feeble collection is Colossally Exquisite.
As for the dead rosemary, I now think I know who took the dead Borat BC from my garbage can. I put Borat into the can and found it gone before the garbage truck arrived. I was really scratching my head. Now I know.

Absolutely, that is correct. The owner was able to obtain this book through a relative who is also passionate about Bonsai.

Man, tough crowd. Sure the sales muck is wasted on people knowledgeable about bonsai, but these aren't trees targeted to the master practitioner. Boxwood are slow growing, and some of those trees have a good amount of age and training. An experienced touch could bring out a lot of hidden beauty in several of the trees. As prices are negotiable, someone local could end up getting several good deals.

@bonsailosangeles Do you have pictures of the whole collection or garden where these were kept? And do you only have boxwoods or do they have other types of trees? I'm local to SoCal and would potentially be interested but 1) as others have mentioned the prices are rather high, and 2) they all sort of look like they are mass production bonsai to me, not something from a personal collection.

Sorry, don't mean to beat you up but you've come to a pretty discerning/nutty corner of the internet.

Trees are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. None of these are worth the asking price, IMHO. I bought a Chinese elm last year with twice the trunk for less than half the price of the one posted.

I agree these are not marketed towards a master practitioner. The prices sure are targeted towards people they hope don't know any better and have more money than sense.
