Eel River natural flat bottom

Got a lot of natural Eel River stones from a friend.
This one is a wonderful deep, hard green stone all river polished.
The great thing about this stone is it has a VERY flat natural bottom and it stands by itself perfectly perpendicular!

Is that Greenstone ( maori name is Ponamu ) illegal to take in NZ ? very expensive
